Deputy Commissioner reviews Winter Maintenance plan for Mughal Road
POONCH, DECEMBER 26: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal today convened a meeting to evaluate the progress of the ongoing work on the Mughal road and discuss the formalities surrounding the handover of the Bufliaz-Pir ki Gali stretch.

During the meeting, critical issues were addressed, including the allocation of personnel and machinery, road maintenance strategies, and traffic movement timings. The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the need for adjusted traffic timings due to frost conditions, proposing that vehicle movement be restricted to between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM to ensure safety, with all vehicles required to cross the road before 4:00 PM.

He confirmed that all formalities for the handover of the Mughal Road have been completed, with the official transfer expected to take place within the next two to three days.

The Deputy Commissioner also urged the Border Roads Organization (BRO) to enhance infrastructure support during the winter months, facilitating better accessibility for both civilian traffic and security forces.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including the Superintendent Engineer of the PWD (R&B) Department, the Sub Divisional Magistrate of Surankote, Executive Engineers from across all divisions, and other relevant officers. These collaborative efforts aim to ensure the Mughal Road remains safe and accessible throughout the winter season
