Rajouri, December 11: Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, IAS, conducted a comprehensive review of the Aspirational Block and Panchayat Development Programmes for Khawas and Budhal Old, with a focus on improving socio-economic indicators across various sectors.
The meeting, held at the district headquarters, aimed to assess the progress made under key developmental schemes and ensure the timely achievement of targets. The review covered critical sectors such as Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Rural Development Department (RDD), Agriculture, Health, and allied services.
During the session, DC Sharma emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts among all departments to bring visible changes in the lives of people residing in these blocks. He directed officials to undertake regular field visits to ensure proper implementation of schemes and projects. Additionally, he urged for a focus on transparency and accountability in the utilization of resources.
The Aspirational Block Development Programme (ABDP) has been introduced to enhance the socio-economic parameters in identified blocks by addressing gaps in health, education, agriculture, and infrastructure. Budhal Old and Khawas blocks were selected for this initiative due to their developmental needs.
Key areas of discussion included:
1. ICDS: Improving nutritional outcomes and ensuring comprehensive childcare services.
2. RDD: Strengthening rural infrastructure and livelihoods under schemes like MGNREGA.
3. Agriculture: Promoting sustainable farming practices and ensuring the timely distribution of seeds and fertilizers.
4. Health: Enhancing healthcare facilities, with a focus on maternal and child health.
DC Sharma reiterated the need for all departments to work in unison to address the challenges faced by the people of these blocks. He also highlighted the significance of community participation in achieving the desired outcomes.
The meeting concluded with the assurance of periodic reviews to monitor progress and address bottlenecks. Officials were instructed to ensure that all developmental targets are achieved within the stipulated timeframe to uplift the socio-economic status of Khawas and Budhal Old.
This initiative is expected to bring transformative changes and improve the quality of life for the residents of these aspirational blocks.
