ALC Kishtwar Holds On-Spot Registration cum awareness Camp for Labourers in Panchayat Kuchhal B
Kishtwar, December 6, 2024: In a proactive initiative to extend welfare benefits to the labor community, Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC) Kishtwar,who is also AD Employment, Ms. Mamta Sudarshan, conducted an on-spot registration cum awareness camp at Panchayat Kuchhal B, Block Mughalmaidan.  

The camp, organized to facilitate access to laborer welfare schemes, witnessed a significant turnout of workers from the area besides imparting awareness on various schemes of the Labour and Employment department.

During the event, 40 eligible labour cards beneficiaries were registered, and 2 e-Shram cards beneficiaries were registered, ensuring eligible beneficiaries could avail themselves of various government schemes under the Jammu & Kashmir Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB).  

Addressing the laborers, Ms. Mamta Sudarshan highlighted the importance of labor registration in safeguarding their rights and improving their access to social security benefits. She encouraged unregistered workers to take advantage of such camps and emphasized the government’s commitment to providing timely assistance to the labor class.  

The Assistant Labour Commissioner also explained the benefits of e-Shram cards, which serve as a gateway to several welfare schemes for unorganized sector workers. She assured the laborers that the department is taking all necessary measures to streamline the registration process and ensure that the benefits of these schemes reach every eligible worker.  

The ALC/AD Employment urged laborers to spread awareness about the schemes among their peers and assured them of continued support from the department. She reaffirmed the department’s commitment to organizing more such camps in remote areas to ensure comprehensive coverage of all eligible beneficiaries.
