Kupwara, November 28, 2024: The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) of Kupwara conducted a comprehensive enforcement drive aimed at ensuring road safety and strict adherence to traffic regulations in the region. The drive, which took place across various locations in Kupwara, witnessed active participation from MVD personnel who focused on penalizing violators and raising awareness about the importance of following traffic rules.
During the operation, the MVD officials issued a total of e-challans amounting to Rs. 72,000, targeting a range of violations, including speeding, non-compliance with seat belt and helmet regulations, and improper vehicle documentation. In addition to the fines, the authorities seized documents from several vehicles that did not meet the required legal standards.
This drive is part of an ongoing effort by the MVD to reduce accidents and enforce discipline among transporters and general road users. Authorities emphasized the need for better road behavior to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of both drivers and pedestrians.
