Dr. Farooq Abdullah Releases Two Literary Works at Tagore Hall, Srinagar
Srinagar, November 3, 2024 – In a celebration of literature and culture, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), unveiled two significant books during an event at Tagore Hall, Srinagar. The books, Talu-e-Noor by the esteemed poet and writer Dr. Ganzanfar Ali, and Little Joys by young author Anayah Ali Haji, were presented to an audience comprising literary enthusiasts, scholars, and public figures.

Dr. Abdullah, in his keynote address, lauded Dr. Ganzanfar Ali’s contributions to Urdu literature, emphasizing the importance of his works, particularly his translation of the revered poetry of Sheikh-ul-Alam (RA). He described this translation as a vital effort in preserving and promoting the region’s rich literary and cultural heritage. The JKNC President highlighted the significance of fostering the Kashmiri language among the younger generation, urging parents to encourage their children to learn the language as a means of preserving their identity and cultural roots.

Addressing the audience, Dr. Abdullah said, “Dr. Ganzanfar Ali’s work in translating the profound poetry of Sheikh-ul-Alam (RA) serves as a bridge connecting our rich past with the present. It is essential that we take pride in our heritage and pass down our language and traditions to future generations.”

The event also saw the launch of Little Joys, a collection penned by young author Anayah Ali Haji, showcasing the creative potential and emerging talent in Kashmir’s literary scene. This book has been noted for capturing the nuances of life from a youthful perspective, offering insights into the simple yet profound aspects of human experiences.

Prominent literary figures, including poets Shaad Ramzan and Sabir Mujahid, were present at the occasion and expressed their appreciation for the contributions made by both authors.
