Kishtwar,14 November : As part of the calendar of activities outlined in the National Plan of Action for November 2024, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kishtwar celebrated Children’s Day aimed at raising awareness and promoting children's welfare. In this regard, the DLSA Kishtwar organized awareness programs across District Kishtwar, engaging various communities and schools through its outreach teams.
In addition to these district-wide efforts, an awareness program was held at Ashiana Boys Hostel in Kishtwar on November 14, 2024, under the esteemed guidance of the Chairman of DLSA Kishtwar and the supervision of the Secretary of DLSA Kishtwar. The program aimed to educate children and young people about their rights and the significance of Children’s Day in India.
At the Ashiana Boys Hostel event, Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel Mr. Sanveer Singh and Advocate Mr. Varun Sharma were invited as resource persons, alongside children from Palaash. Their presentations provided valuable insights into the life and contributions of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister. They emphasized Nehru’s vision of children as the foundation of the nation’s future, underscoring the importance of nurturing and protecting young minds. Known affectionately as “Chacha Nehru,” Pandit Nehru's ideals and deep affection for children were celebrated, inspiring the young audience to pursue knowledge, compassion, and civic responsibility.
The attached photographs document the awareness programs conducted throughout District Kishtwar, capturing moments of engagement, learning, and inspiration among participants. We hope these visuals provide a comprehensive view of the initiatives taken by the DLSA Kishtwar in commemorating Children’s Day and promoting the welfare of children in our district.
