New Delhi, October 18, 2024 – Union Minister for Civil Aviation and Steel, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, made a notable appearance at the ongoing ITU-WTSA 2024, visiting the cultural corridor that highlights India's rich traditions in the handloom sector, with a special focus on contributions from the North Eastern Region (NER). The cultural exhibit aims to merge the essence of India's age-old cultural heritage with cutting-edge technological advancements, leaving a lasting impression on international delegates attending the event.
The cultural corridor, a unique blend of tradition and modernity, showcases a wide range of handloom and handicraft products from different regions across India. Artisans, many of whom are National Awardees, presented their meticulously crafted creations to visitors. The products on display ranged from the intricate Tangaliya weaves and Kutch shawls from Gujarat to the elegant Manipuri home textiles, Kullu shawls from Himachal Pradesh, and the world-famous Pochampally Ikat from Telangana.
