Minister Javed Rana Reviews Development Projects in Poonch District, Directs Strict Monitoring and Accountability
Poonch, Oct 30, 2024 – Javed Rana, the Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs, conducted a comprehensive review of ongoing development projects in Poonch district. In a meeting attended by district officials, including Heads of Departments (HODs), the Minister assessed the progress of various initiatives under his ministry's purview and emphasized the need for efficient and timely project execution.

During the review session, Minister Rana expressed both satisfaction and concern over different aspects of the ongoing projects. He underscored the importance of ensuring that developmental initiatives are carried out effectively, particularly in sectors crucial for the welfare and advancement of the region's residents, including water supply, environmental conservation, and tribal welfare.

To ensure heightened accountability, Minister Rana directed the HODs to intensify their oversight at the district level, ensuring that project progress aligns with the timeline and quality standards. He emphasized that any form of non-performance would be met with strict action, urging officials to act decisively against those found lacking in their duties. He stressed that the government is committed to promoting transparency and accountability and that project delays due to negligence would not be tolerated.

The Minister further advised that a robust monitoring system be established, allowing officials to keep track of the progress and promptly address any challenges that may arise. Highlighting the government’s goal to improve infrastructure and living conditions, he appealed to the officials to prioritize the welfare of the district’s citizens and to work with dedication.

The review concluded with instructions for a follow-up report on the progress of all projects under the district's development portfolio.
