Poonch, Oct 23, 2024 – The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Poonch, today chaired a high-level meeting to review the progress of land acquisition cases for various government projects in the district. The review was aimed at ensuring that the projects face no delays due to pending land-related issues, which are critical for the timely completion of infrastructure and developmental schemes in the region.
During the meeting, the DC emphasized the importance of resolving land acquisition matters promptly and instructed all concerned officials to expedite the process. He highlighted the need for time-bound disbursement of compensation to the landowners whose land has been acquired for these projects. "The affected landowners must be compensated fairly and without delay. This will not only ensure smooth execution of projects but also instill trust and cooperation from the community," he remarked.
The review meeting was attended by officials from the revenue, planning, and development departments, along with representatives from various agencies involved in the ongoing projects. The projects under discussion included key infrastructure initiatives such as road expansion, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and irrigation systems, all of which are pivotal for the development of the district.
The DC instructed officials to clear any bottlenecks hindering the acquisition process and called for close coordination between different departments to ensure that compensation is processed smoothly. He also directed field officers to maintain regular communication with the landowners, providing them with updates on the status of their compensation and acquisition process.
It was noted that certain cases had been delayed due to procedural issues, which the DC urged officials to address on priority. He further assured that the district administration is committed to resolving all land-related disputes in a transparent and time-bound manner, ensuring that development in Poonch continues without hindrance.
