Srinagar: Omar Abdullah, the Vice President of the National Conference (NC) and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, has made a significant promise. He stated that if his party comes to power, all citizens of the state will receive free education, and free gas cylinders will be provided to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). This announcement comes in the context of the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, which could bring a new turn to the state's political scenario.
Addressing a public rally, Omar Abdullah said, "If our government is formed, all children will receive free education. We will ensure that no child in the state is deprived of education. Along with this, we will provide free gas cylinders to economically weaker families to ease their burden and improve their financial condition."
He further stated that the aim of his government would be to provide equal rights and facilities to all citizens of the state, regardless of their class, caste, or religion. Omar Abdullah also mentioned that the priority of his party is to raise the standard of living of the people and to work for the overall development of the state.
Omar Abdullah also criticized the policies of the BJP government, saying that the current policies of the central government have weakened the people of Jammu and Kashmir both economically and socially. He emphasized that a National Conference government would steer the state in a better direction and work for the welfare of all citizens.
Following this announcement, the political atmosphere has become more intense. Experts believe that this promise by Omar Abdullah could become a significant issue in the elections.
