Kishtwar,15-08-2024: In a significant development coinciding with the fervor of Independence Day celebrations 2024, the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav, IAS, today inaugurated twin facilities viz milk Processing Unit at Dool & Prefabricated Building of PHC Keeru of Block Nagseni.
The newly inaugurated milk processing Unit under the brand - CHENAB DAIRY, marks a landmark achievement under the RR plan initiated by the District Administration in collaboration with the Mechanical Department and JKNRLM Kishtwar.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Kishtwar said that the project is set to play a pivotal role in promoting self-reliance in milk products like packaged milk, curd, ghee & paneer within the district while also generating enhanced livelihood opportunities for the local community especially Women SHG members of Block Nagseni. Similar milk units being setup under HADP by animal husbandry department will work under the brand - Chenab dairy to address the milk product needs of the area,informed DC Kishtwar.
The dedicated SHG members have already embarked on an exposure tour to various industrial and SHG units in Srinagar, equipping them with advanced skills and knowledge in curd processing.
In other instance, DC Kishtwar in presence of DDC Councillor Nagseni Faisal Ahmed,HOP Keeru HEP Sh Ramesh Ojha, CMO Kishtwar Dr Rajinder Kumar,BMO and executing authorities (PWD) also inaugurated the newly constructed prefabricated building of the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Keeru, established under the Rehabilitation & Resettlement (R&R) plan of the Hydroelectric Power Projects (HEP) Keru.
Speaking on the occasion,DC highlighted the collaborative efforts of all to complete this facility in a timely manner.He also added that this modern facility is expected to play a crucial role in improving the overall health infrastructure of the region, ensuring that essential medical care is readily available to those living in remote areas.
CVPPL also provided under CSR - biochemistry lab analysers on the occasion along with free medicines.
DC Kishtwar Dr Devansh observed that this Enhanced infrastructure at PHC KEERU is a step in creating trauma center facility between Kishtwar & Padder.
