Bandipora Ignites Independence Day Spirit with Spectacular Celebrations across the District.

Bandipora, August 15: On the eve of 78th Independence Day Celebrations, District Bandipora came alive with vibrant celebrations and deep patriotism with a series of captivating events across the District.
The festivities showcased the district’s unity and commitment to national values.

At the heart of the celebrations was the grand event at SK Stadium, where crowds gathered to witness a lively parade featuring uniformed contigents, school children, Police band, and cultural troupes.

At S.K stadium, the Chairperson District Development Council, Abdul Gani Bhat, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Shakeel ul Rehman and Sr. Superintendent of Police Lakshay Sharma, hoisted the National Flag, inspected the parade, and took the salute from the march-past contigents comprising, CRPF 3rd battalion, J&K Executive Police, J&K-IRP, JKP Women Platoon District Police Bandipora, J&K Fire and Emergency, SPOs, Home Guard, NCC, Army Goodwill School Bandipora, High School Bagh, Higher Secondary Quil Muqam, Gujjar & Bakerwal Hostel, Space Age Model School, Higher Secondary Aloosa, Higher Secondary Aragam, Higher Secondary School Nadihal, HSS Arin, and IDPS, followed by the Police Band Group.

In his address, Chairperson DDC Abdul Gani Bhat highlighted the district's developmental strides and future plans aimed at enhancing public well-being.
He said for FY 2024-25 Rs. 3050.14 lac have been allocated for District under CAPEX besides also highlighting the programs taken up in Education, R&B, RDD, Aspirational Block, Samriddhi Sema Yojna and other developmental works. 
He said administration is on the forefront for youth engagement in various employment avenues. 

Delibrating on the efforts taken up under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, the Chairman urged everyone to join hands with administration in order to achieve the goal of the drug free district. 

The Chairperson also appreciated the role of District Administration, Police and other stake holders for their proactive role in conducting successful Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2024 and also urged devotees to participate in upcoming Chota Amarnath Ji Yatra in Bandipora. 

Bhat extended his gratitude to all participants, security forces, and the public for their cooperation, dedication, and enthusiastic participation in the Independence Day Celebrations. 

The day was further enriched by cultural performances that highlighted Bandipora’s rich heritage and diverse traditions. From traditional dance performances to evocative patriotic songs, the celebrations offered a platform for showcasing local talent and fostering a sense of pride among residents.

In addition to the main event, Independence Day was celebrated across various parts of the district, with schools, Panchayats , and government offices hosting their own events. These included flag hoisting ceremonies, educational programmes, and public gatherings that emphasized the spirit of national unity.

At Mini Secretariat Bandipora, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shakeel ul Rehmam Hoisted the National Flag while as at Sumbal, SDM Sumbal Aamir Choudhary hoisted the National Flag and at Gurez SDM Gurez Mukhtar Ahmad hoisted the National Flag besides flag hoisting ceremonies were also witnessed in block headquarters.

The Independence Day celebrations at S. k Stadium witnessed participation of all the senior officers of the civil and police administration, DDC members , other public representatives, and large gathering of the general public.
