DODA, AUGUST 22, 2026: Continuing its crackdown on the illegal sale and unauthorised possession of liquor, Doda Police recovered 13.7 litres of liquor during a search conducted in the jurisdiction of Police Post Karara, Police Station Thathri.
Acting on specific information regarding the alleged illegal sale of liquor, Police Station Thathri registered FIR No. 67/2026 under Section 48(f) of the Excise Act and entrusted the investigation to PSI Anil Kumar.
During the investigation, the premises of the accused, identified as Anil Kumar, son of Shadi Lal, resident of Doki, Tehsil Chiralla, were searched in the presence of Executive Magistrate 1st Class, Chiralla, Ram Dayal.
The police team recovered 40 bottles of McDowell's liquor, each containing 180 ml, totalling 7.2 litres, along with 13 bottles of Kingfisher beer, each containing 500 ml, totalling 6.5 litres. The entire consignment, amounting to 13.7 litres, was seized as per prescribed legal procedure.
A notice under Section 35(3) of the BNSS was also served upon the accused, and all requisite legal formalities were completed.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
Doda Police reiterated its commitment to taking strict action against the illegal sale, storage and distribution of liquor and other violations of Excise laws.
