Deputy CM Surinder Choudhary Visits Jakh Site After DAK Expressway Flyover Accident


JAKH/SAMBA, Aug 30: Following the tragic collapse of a portion of the under-construction DAK Expressway flyover at Jakh in Samba, Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary today visited the accident site to assess the situation.

The incident, which occurred a few days ago, claimed the life of one worker, while another worker sustained injuries.

During his visit, the Deputy Chief Minister interacted with the concerned officials and representatives of the companies involved in the National Highway project and sought detailed information about the accident.

Choudhary directed the authorities and construction agencies to strictly adhere to all prescribed safety standards. He emphasized that any negligence in construction work would not be tolerated and that the safety of workers must remain the top priority.

He also stressed the need to fix responsibility for the incident and take effective measures to prevent similar accidents in the future. The concerned departments were directed to strengthen safety arrangements and ensure regular monitoring of ongoing construction works.
